CAREing About Falls: Preventing Falls and Falls-Related Injuries INFOGRAPHIC

This infographic can be used to remind staff of four simple strategies to prevent falls and falls-related injuries. Using the acronym CARE, staff can remember to implement the following strategies in order to maintain resident safety: create a safe environment, assess a resident’s risk daily, reduce residents’ risk of falling, and remember that preventing falls in everyone’s responsibility.

Provided are tips on how to accomplish these strategies, as well as signs to look out for to identify at-risk situations, and take the necessary steps to intervene and prevent a fall.
